"The Art Of Breaking Apart" zeigt, dass der Band auch nach über zehn Jahren die Ideen noch lange nicht ausgegangen sind.
Erneut glänzen sie durch Innovationsreichtum. Neben dem gewohnt typisch aggressiven VAC Sound mit Club-Appeal (zB. "Tripped Out," "Vaporized," und "Phucked Up Phreak") und dem für VAC bekannten virtuosen- und in dieser Form heraus ragendem Spiel mit elektronischen Effekten und Sprachsamples, fi nden sich auf dem Album sogar ungewohnt melodische Elemente unter den VAC-typischen druck vollen Arrangements und auch gesanglich gehen VAC teilweise unerwartete neue Wege.
Stellenweise fühlt man sich gar an Death In June oder The Cure erinnert. (Ersteres bereits durch "Black Rainbows" auf der Septic VIII Compilation verdeutlicht). Dies also sehr abwechslungreiche und dennoch in sich stimmige neue Werk von Velvet Acid Christ kann man als echten Kunstgriff bezeichnen: "The Art Of Breaking Apart".
