(05/10) Woran es im Endeffekt gelegen hat, dass die neue Front Line Assembly Single nun so deutlich stärker und clubtauglicher ist als die vorangegangenen Veröffentlichungen, können wir nicht beantworten.
Aber es ist eindeutig, dass das zu einem Quartett angewachsene Team aus Bill Leeb, Jeremy Inkel, Chris Peterson und Jared Slingerland nun die Form wieder gefunden hat, die ihre großen Erfolge "Tactical Neural Implant" und "Hard Wired" ausgemacht hatte: Cinematischer Industrial im Breitbandformat, der technisch und kompositorisch den vielen Verfolgern deutlich die Rücklichter zeigen dürfte.
Die neue Klasse zeigt sich auf allen drei Songs der Single, und deutet an, dass das kommende Album "Improvised Electronic Device" ein Hybrid aus Elektronik und Gitarren wird, der "Das Beste beider Welten" zu vereinen sucht.
Während die A-Seite "Shifting Through The Lens" in einer furiosen Sechs-Minuten Extended Version der clubtauglichste Track sein dürfte, den Front Line in der letzten DEKADE geschrieben haben, wandeln sie mit dem metallastigen "Angriff" auf erdigeren Pfaden, die Anklänge an Rammstein und das eigene "Millenium"-Album erkennen lassen.
Die Klasse und Eingängigkeit dieses "Bretts" wird aber erst bei wiederholtem Hören deutlich, wenn der deutsch gesungene Refrain sich im Gehörgang festbeißt.
