(10/08) Mit ihren Alben haben The Cure ihren unverkennbaren Sound aus Düsternis, Punk-Elementen und feinstem Pop geformt. Über ein Vierteljahrhundert begeistert The Cure mit ihrem charismatischen Frontsänger Robert Smith plus Simon Gallup (Bass) und Jason Cooper (Schlagzeug) und Porl Thompson (Gitarre) schon ihre Fans.
Nun hat es die Glückszahl "13" der einzigartigen Band angetan. Als Vorbereitung für die Fans auf das 13. Album von The Cure erschien seit Mai an jedem 13. des Monats eine neue Single. "The Only One" (13.05.), "Freakshow" (13.06.), "Sleep When I'm Dead" (13.07.), "The Perfect Boy" (13.08.) und zu guter Letzt die Remix-EP "Hypnagogic States" (13.09.).
Auf dem neuen Album "4:13" sind natürlich 13 Songs enthalten - neben den bereits erschienenen vier Singles neun neue Songs.
Die früher einmal angedachte limitierte Version des Album mit Platz für die 4 (oder 5) Singles scheint verworfen zu sein. Es soll nur eine CD und die Doppel-LP geben.
